HEAD OF OPERATIONS

An incredible leader with a deep appreciation for the needs and concerns of others. She rattles your cage to get things done and will at the same time be kind enough to get you a cage if you don't have one of your own. Graduated in 1978. Currently retired having served in the education sector since then.

Maxie is a kind of compass, grounding every ambitious dream in a necessary dose of reality. She quietens the noise with good noise, ensuring the path forward is as inclusive as it is practical. Unflinching in the face of hard truths, she trades frantic energy for a sane, steady approach that keeps the mission on track. Last year at Emil Weder was 1981 having spent decades in Education since then.

Christopher Maarman

GOLFER & 'EREDIENS' Organizer

A 'skrik vir niks' giant with a heart of gold, Christopher stands tall, literally, in a world where listening has a bad reputation - something he challenges everyday with his wise approach to life. Graduated in 1979. Currently serves as full time Reverend in the Uniting Reformed Church in Southern Africa (URCSA)in a congregation in Oudtshoorn.

Peter Rossouw

CALMING ONE & GOLF SHIRTS

The quiet 'staatmaker' of every storm, turning chaos into completed tasks without a second wasted. He speaks in results, not promises—steady hands and a silent engine that never stops. The committee is better off with Peter. He matriculated in 1978, having been in education since his retirement.

PLANNING & FINANCE

With a career-long dedication to planning and financial committees, Sonja specializes in navigating complex resource landscapes with resilience and strategic oversight. She leverages this experience within our reunion committee to drive impactful results and celebrate our collective success. She graduated in 1978 having retired some 5 years ago after 4 decades in education.

May Duminy

CATERING/LOGISTICS

May is the silent architect of every event, ensuring the kitchen and the floor move in perfect, unspoken harmony.While the room celebrates, she works the shadows—turning complex logistics into a seamless experience before anyone noticed. She'll get you to say, 'my wêreld...' and you'd be right - it is May's 'wêreld!' - for our benefit. She graduated in 1979 and is currently working for MCSA Genadendal.

Greg Smith

MUSIC & MANAGEMENT

A multi-gifted man with a love for people and a keen eye and heart for the intellectual and spiritual demands of any moment, Greg Smith brings an enormous wealth of insights and experience to the committee. Having matriculated from Emil Weder in 1970, he's journey in education brought him back as a teacher there before retiring in 2017. 

Jacky Engel

COMMUNICATIONS

Jacky is a quiet master of the pause who clears the noise to make room for what truly matters. She offers the missing piece of the puzzle in a single, quiet sentence, leaving the room wondering how such a simple truth stayed hidden for so long. Completed neurological impact on Emilarians in 1978.

Rudy Joorst

ACCOUNTING & COMPLIANCE

Rudolph is a true anchor, always a champion for prudent organizational management. With a master’s eye for compliance and a silent passion for precision, he can very quickly spot what is needed to strengthen the alumni legacy of fiscal prudence. Matriculated in 1978. Completed a lifelong career in Education, retiring May 2026

Theophilus van Rensburg Lindzter

COMMUNICATIONS & MEDIA

Upliftment and a fearless approach to new technologies fuels his soul - the fireworks do not always brighten the skies but it certainly ignites innovation. He graduated in 1979 and currently serves as educator and project leader for Learning Academy Worldwide.
